WHY VAN LIFE?

In 2015, fresh out of college, we put a CVT rooftop tent on Evan’s Dodge Ram and drove across the country from Georgia to the West Coast for a once-in-a-lifetime road trip. By the end of our 2 months on the road, we realized we wanted to see more. We NEEDED to see more. The next several years of life were already planned out with graduate school and the start of our careers in accounting but the summer of 2015 changed what we thought life after college could be.

Fast forward to 2019, we made our dream into a reality and finally took the leap to leave our office jobs and hit the road. Both of us had great jobs but the 9-5 routine of work, home, sleep, and repeat was draining us. Mountain biking helped relieve the weekly stress but the local trails just weren’t enough anymore. We wanted to expand beyond the comforts of Metro Atlanta. So we bought a van, spent 6 months converting it, and headed west. Two years later, here we are - still in love with our new way of living.

Our goal with van life isn’t to be forever nomads, but to use this unique moment in our lives where we are healthy and able to experience adventure to its fullest. Now is our chance to hit all those trails we’ve been dreaming of - whether by foot or on wheels. Plus, to be able to experience it all with our best friend, Penelope, by our side makes it even sweeter.

Along the way in our travels, we’ve discovered a love and passion for Photography and Filmmaking. A partial reason for this blog is to showcase that work. We also want to dive into details on trails, gear reviews, life on the road with a dog, and so much more.

What started as a hobby has developed into a business with our focus shifting from documenting everyday moments to also working with brands to develop creative content for their social media and marketing needs.
